Launceston woman fined for COVID lie

A 39 year old Launceston woman has been fined $1557 after providing false information on her interstate travel.

The woman arrived in Launceston on September 22 - her Tas E Travel application said she had only spent time in Queensland.

Police enquiries revealed she had also spent time in Victoria prior to her arrival - which is high risk.

The woman has been directed into home quarantine and is undergoing COVID testing.
