Temperatures are dropping across Tasmania.
A cold front hitting this afternoon (Thursday) followed by another tomorrow will bring snow down to 800 metres in the state's south, west and Central Highlands this evening.
The bureau says that will lower to 500 metres tomorrow night into Saturday morning.
Weekend temperatures will be several degrees below average.
Inland parts of the state and the north can expect widespread frost and a warning has been issued for tomorrow, as well as road weather alerts for elevated areas.
Bushwalkers are also being advised to reconsider hiking in the Central Plateau and western areas.
