A hiker is suffering hypothermia but otherwise unharmed after spending the night in the Cradle Mountain Lake St Clair National Park.
Police say the Queenslander in her 40s activated an emergency beacon at around 8.30 pm on Monday on the Lees Paddocks track.
A rescue team reached the solo bushwalker on foot early on Tuesday morning after bad weather ruled out a helicopter extraction overnight.
She's due to be airlifted to the Launceston General Hospital.
