Neill-Fraser appeal sensation

The Hobart court hearing Susan Neill-Fraser's appeal to her murder conviction has heard from the key witness who previously denied being on the yacht in 2009 on the night Bob Chappell disappeared.

Then 15 and homeless, Meaghan Vass has now told the court, she boarded with three men to rob the yacht moored at Sandy Bay, they were startled by the radiologist being there, violence erupted and Neill-Fraser was not there.

Appearing distressed and telling the court she could not go on giving evidence, the witness was allowed to return at 9.30 tomorrow morning (Tuesday) with the case adjourned for the day.

Neill-Fraser is serving a 23 year sentence for her partner Bob Chappell's murder, with 13 as a minimum to be served, meaning she will be eligible for parole next year.
