Northern fires keep crews busy

The fire service is assuring residents of Ravenswood in Launceston there was never a threat to property from a fast-moving scrub fire late on Thursday night.

Alarmed residents made multiple triple zero calls as around 100 square metres of gorse went up in flames on Pioneer Parade.

In a separate incident, the occupant of a property at Tomahawk in the state's northeast raised the alarm on Friday morning when he woke up, looked out the bedroom window and saw his caravan burning down.

A fire investigator was due to examine the wreckage on Tomahawk Drive later in the day.
