A woman’s bid to appeal her murder conviction has failed.
Natalie Maher was jailed for 23 years in 2021 for the smothering murder of her 71 year old mother Veronica Corstorphine in her South Launceston home in 2019 then siphoning her bank account.
50-year-old Maher’s appeal claimed a miscarriage of justice through what her barrister called an oppressive police interview.

It was also argued evidence of a forensic pathologist should not have been allowed in the trial.
The court of criminal appeal upheld the conviction.
