Wild learner caught

Tasmania Police is thanking members of the public for their assistance in locating the driver of a white Holden 4WD, with South Australian registration, which was located in Hobart on Saturday, 9 July.

The car had been detected speeding through several speed camera locations in an increasingly dangerous manner on a number of occasions on Hobart’s eastern shore.

Police from Southern Road Policing Services spoke to the driver and seized the vehicle, with the driver incurring several speeding charges including:

· 1 x offence incurring a $700 fine and 3 months disqualification

· 2 x speeding charges each incurring a fine of $1020 and a 4-month disqualification

· Driving unaccompanied as a Learner Driver.

The driver will be proceeded against by summons.

Senior Sergeant Adrian Leary said, “I would like to thank members of the public that made contact and helped us to locate the driver – your information was greatly appreciated.
