Three of the region’s most popular tourist destinations will be thrust into the national limelight in Canberra on Friday night when Australia’s top tourist towns are named.

Devonport won this year’s Tasmanian top tourist town award for populations over 5000, while Stanley will represent the state in the tiny town award for populations of less than 1500 for the second time in three years, having also won the same state category in 2021.

Meanwhile, Queenstown will fly the Tassie flag in the small town category for populations of between 1500 and 5000, with the West Coast again shining through after Strahan won the national award in the tiny town category last year.
