Police and Ambulance services were called to the Hobart Speedway at approximately 9:15pm last night (Saturday) after a competitor was involved in a serious crash during the first lap of a race.
The 34 year old driver was transported to the Royal Hobart Hospital with serious head and neck injuries.
He is in a serious but stable condition.

Police are continuing to investigate and worksafe Tasmania has been notified.
