Police numbers on the North-West Coast are set to get a boost with the graduation of 42 new constables from the Tasmania Police Academy.
The training, for 26 men and 16 women also included six weeks of in-field training at police stations around the state.
Police Minister and Braddon MP Felix Ellis says 11 of the new recruits will be posted to the North-West and West Coasts.
Mr Ellis says Tasmania now has record numbers of police, which will continue to grow next year and he rejects recent speculation that proposed efficiency cuts to the police budget will result in less numbers.
Meanwhile, a police recruitment information session will be held at the Devonport Police Station on Wednesday night.
