Jetstar crew assaulted on Launceston flight

A Jetstar Flight has been cancelled after a passenger reportedly assaulted crew members.

Tasmania Police and Ambulance Tas responded to reports of a violent passenger on Jetstar Flight JQ753 at around 3pm, 19 August 2022.

Officers say a teenage girl had become violent during the flight and assaulted two members of the crew.

Police attended the aircraft and took a 16-year-old into custody.

Ambulance TAS and Police transported her to Launceston General Hospital (LGH), where she has been admitted for treatment.

The two flight attendants also went to LGH with minor injuries, both were released a short time later.

The returning flight to Brisbane, QLD, has been scrapped as a result of the incident.
