Tasmanians are now able to swap empty cans and bottles for cash or vouchers, with the launch of the Tasmanian Government’s container refund scheme.
40 reverse vending machines and collection depots have been installed across the state, offering 10 cent refunds for eligible drink containers.

Eligible containers can be left at Recycle Rewards depots on the North-West Coast at Spreyton and Somerset, as well as reverse vending machines on the Coast are established at Sheffield, Smithton, Devonport and Wynyard, with two also on the West Coast at Queenstown and Zeehan.
