Cold snap coming

We are being warned to brace for more wild weather over the coming days.

The Bureau of Meteorology is forecasting strong winds, heavy rain and cold temperatures thanks to another cold front crossing the state. It is the third in as many weeks.

Snow is forecast to fall down to 500 metres on the North West Coast on Monday, and 600 metres on Tuesday.

The Western areas of the state are expected to see snow down to 400 metres on Monday and 500 metres on Tuesday, with daytime temperatures only rising to the low teens.

While Hobart will experience strong, gust winds and possible hail.

Thunderstorms and snow are also forecast to hit the Central Plateau on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday with a foot of snow expected to fall.

It is expected warmer conditions will reappear later in the week.
