The murder trial of a Swansea couple accused of murdering their son-in-law has begun in Launceston.
The jury sworn in, despite nearly 100 people not turning up for jury duty on Monday; Justice Robert Pearce warning that no-shows risk a $5000 fine or three months behind bars.
The pair were arrested and charged around a decade after the shooting death of Shane Barker at his Campbell Town home in 2009.
They have both pleaded not guilty.
Among dozens of witnesses set to give evidence in the extensive trial is Mr Barker’s estranged wife – and daughter of the accused – Rachel Barker, with proceedings estimated to take upwards of two months.
