Award winning pianist to visit the Coast

The winner of one of Tasmania’s most prestigious music awards will perform on the North-West and West Coasts this week as part of a statewide tour commencing on Wednesday.

Third year University of Tasmania Bachelor of Music student and $10,000 Ossa Prize winner and pianist Sarah Chick will start her tour at Queenstown on Wednesday and then perform at Devonport and Ulverstone, before moving on to Launceston, Swansea and Hobart.

Ms Chick’s show Portraits – Women Composing Wonders, will include works by French composer Cecile Chaminade, US composer Margaret Bonds, and Greek-Australian Aristea Mellos.

Wednesday night’s performance will be at the Paragon Theatre at Queenstown at 7pm.

On Thursday, Ms Chick will hold a school workshop at Devonport’s St Brendan Shaw College, before performing at The Ulverstone Wharf precinct that evening.
