Mt. Lyell Strahan Picnic

A cherished annual event steeped in 125 years of history.  Held on January 26 at West Strahan Beach, this free community event celebrates the spirit and mining history of the West Coast.

The 126th Annual Mount Lyell Strahan Picnic will be held in 2024 and attendees can expect traditional races, over 180 prizes, a bicycle stunt show, and complimentary food and activities.

Thanks to the efforts of a dedicated volunteer committee and generous local businesses, the Strahan Picnic continues to serve as a major community gathering, providing entertainment and unity for residents and visitors alike.
