Millions of Australians are set to take home more money after the Fair Work Commission announced a 4.75% increase to award wages. The pay rise will come into effect from July 1 and is expected to benefit around 2.8 million workers across the country. That’s an extra $56.90 a week for a full-time employee, pushing weekly earnings above the $1,000 mark.

If you’re paid according to an award, the increase should automatically appear in your pay packet from the first full pay period after July 1.
