Tommy DeCarlo, Lead Singer of Boston, Dies at Age 60

Lead singer of the band Boston, has sadly passed away at the age of 60 as confirmed by his family this morning.

It was announced via a Facebook post today, shared by Tommy DeCarlo’s wife and children that the iconic rock artist has sadly passed away after a battle with brain cancer.

“It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our Dad, Tommy DeCarlo, on Monday, March 9th, 2026. After being diagnosed with brain cancer last September, he fought with incredible strength and courage right up until the very end.

During this difficult time, we kindly ask that friends and fans respect our family’s privacy as we grieve and support one another.

Rest in peace, Dad.

Tommy’s family had recently set up a GoFundMe page to assist with the expensive medical treatment that Decarlo was undergoing for his cancer diagnosis. This GoFundMe page revealed to the public that DeCarlo had been suffering from a brain bleed and needed emergency surgery. During this surgery however is when medical professionals discovered cancer growths on both his brain and in his lungs.

As a musician, Decarlo had a very successful career with the rock band Boston. He joined the band after the bands original lead singer, Brad Delp committed suicide in 2007. You most likely know the band for their major hits including Peace of Mind, Don’t Look Back, Amanda, Rock & Roll, and More Than a Feeling.
