

| Conservationists Warned Over Tarkine Proposal |

A north west council is warning conservationists not to get in the way of a mining project that's all but been given the green light to proceed in the Tarkine. Last night Circular Head councillors unanimously voted to let Shree Minerals' open-cut magnetite mine at Nelson Bay River go ahead. It's already been approved by the EPA and only needs Federal Government approval before it can go ahead. But there's speculation protesters will do whatever it takes to stop the mine being built - Deputy Mayor John Oldaker says they should stay away
