Silt Wins the War In Launceston

Raking the mud, not dredging it, is the future for Launceston's silt issue, in the opinion of Seaport developer Errol Stewart.

For many years he's spent thousands of dollars dredging the River around the Marina, but has now come to the conclusion it's a battle that can't be won.

Mr Stewart now thinks money is best spent on raking the mud and extending the Boardwalk and Marina, to cover the unsightly mess for tourists and locals, and create a cultural playground for markets and events, like Hobart’s Salamanca.
