A prisoner remains on the run after giving authorities the slip at a day
training program.

36-year-old Damien Gordon Deeks of Howrah was at a facility at Derwent
Park on Wednesday but left before Risdon staff came to pick him up.

He's of slim build, around 180 cm tall with short brown hair and green eyes.

Deeks made headlines around a year ago for the burglary of Hobart
businesses and a dramatic car chase in the CBD, but his most recent
sentence was over a brazen safecracking on Hobart’s eastern shore.

He's not considered dangerous but shouldn't be approached.
