Hopes Fade for Fishermen

A search for two fishermen missing off Southwest Tasmania has resumed after bad weather forced police to call it off last night.

The men aged in their 30s were out in a dinghy setting cray pots at the entrance to Port Davey on Sunday night - crew on another boat raised the alarm yesterday morning when they didn't return.

Several fishing boats and a police vessel are battling 3-metre waves and 30-knot winds as they join the rescue helicopter in a search for the men.

Marine Inspector Stuart Scott says they made a worrying discovery on Saddle Bight yesterday afternoon.
